Finished Revised Staging Bench Work

by admin on Apr.26, 2009, under Bench Work

Quite a warm afternoon; a great day to make some progress. It is nice and cool here in the office and Neala is laying in front of a cage fan on her bed keeping cool. I did well today to finish the reworked staging bench work. Here are some pics from the new 5D Mark II. Nice. :)

I still need to do the lift-out section where you walk into the staging area, but there is no rush for that at this point.

I am pretty sure I will be laying some staging track this week at some point.

It Must Be Spring

by admin on Apr.24, 2009, under Misc

The message boards are quiet; the blog comments are very hard to earn.  Yep, spring is here or either what I am doing here really sucks and no one wants to be the first to tell me.   You read all the rants of blog writers who wonder if anyone actually reads all the nonsense they write.  I guess I will have to join them today. I wonder sometimes why I go to the effort to share what I do here. For me it always comes back to getting comments from my peers. I wanted to say positive comments, but that wouldn’t be fair. Sometimes the comments are negative but end up producing the best changes.  I guess the proper term would be constructive criticism.  Constructive criticsim goes a long way to making you a better hobbiest.

Neala says that if I post some pictures of her, everyone will comment and that my stuff is just boring! :)

Beautiful Saturday

by admin on Apr.11, 2009, under Bench Work

This morning, my two year old lab Neala wanted to help work on the layout.  Normally she just lays in the sun coming through the window, but this morning she was a little more interested.  I think she was kind of bored since mommy was off at some bachlorette party last night that me nor Neala were invited too.  I tried to convince my wife that everyone would have much more fun if I was the only guy to show up.  Something weird happens to women at bachlorette parties and that always means some kinky fun of some sort.  Last night we had cold fried chicken left over from lunch and Little Debbie snack cakes for dessert.  She didn’t really want any as she is a dog food only girl unless mom spills the popcorn, Captain Crunch, or ice on the floor.  Something about the floor that makes anything fair game for her.  On days like today I leave the doors open to my office so she can walk just outside and lay in the sun in the grass.  Hugh, she just came in to see what I was doing, hoping for a scratch on head. :)

It is just a beautiful Easter Saturday here and we are making some good albeit slow progress on the bench work this morning. Here is one photo. If I get a lot done today, I will post more this afternoon.  Oh, there she goes, back outside…

Jeez, I have to get a new camera. This Nikon P80 is the WORST camera I have ever owned.  I am thinking of getting a Canon EOS 5D Mark II, but that purchase is pretty major. Maybe next week. I enjoyed the last 5D I owned. Not really sure why I ever sold it.
