Bench Work Construction

by admin on Mar.14, 2009, under Bench Work

Here are some photos taken during the construction of the bench work. As you can see, the bench work is typical L girder construction with a twist. This construction method was used for strength and rigidity. 3/4″ birch plywood was used on top of the L girder construction. Then, three sheets of 1″ Dow insulation was used to provide the ability to carve beneath the normal track level.  The bench work really needs to be painted, but I am waiting on the volunteers to show up for the job. To date, they haven’t identified themselves.
